What is Horizontal Cabling?

Horizontal cabling is the subsystem of a structured cabling system that comprises the following elements: Telecommunications Room, Rack/Cabinet, Connection Components (e.g., Patch Panel), Cable Management Systems, Rack Accessories, Patch Cords, Horizontal Cable, Work Area, Office Box, Face Plate, Modular Jack, Patch cord, and the conduit system from the Telecommunications Room to the Work Areas.
