{"id":723,"date":"2009-04-16T08:31:10","date_gmt":"2009-04-16T13:31:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/yuribravoasencios.wordpress.com\/?p=12"},"modified":"2009-04-16T08:31:10","modified_gmt":"2009-04-16T13:31:10","slug":"superautopista-digital-entre-el-este-de-africa-y-europa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/yuribravo.com\/en\/superautopista-digital-entre-el-este-de-africa-y-europa\/","title":{"rendered":"DIGITAL SUPERHIGHWAY BETWEEN EAST AFRICA AND EUROPE"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center\">\n<p>\u00a0<span class=\"textoresumen\" style=\"font-weight: bold\">The new submarine fiber optic cable will provide high-capacity access services on the African continent.<\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><span style=\"color: #3366ff\"><strong>SEACOM<\/strong> <\/span><\/span>has signed an agreement to connect its 17,000-kilometer intercontinental submarine fiber optic network with the pan-European network of <strong>Interoute <\/strong>and facilitate the <strong>access of East African countries to major European business centers<\/strong>. This agreement will allow Interoute and SEACOM to offer new opportunities to <strong>telecommunications operators and African companies<\/strong> and support the growing demand for bandwidth. In fact, the <strong>East African countries<\/strong> have experienced a <strong>rapid growth in the demand for connectivity<\/strong>, with a user growth of 1,062,% between the years 2000 and 2008.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The new <strong>fiber optic cable<\/strong> The SEACOM pipeline will run along the east coast of Africa and will allow the creation of a <strong>digital superhighway<\/strong> that <strong>It will link South Africa, Mozambique, Tanzania and Kenya with Europe and South Asia<\/strong>. The cable will reach Marseille, where it will connect to the Interoute network, offering <strong>High-speed connection to Europe, North America and the Middle East<\/strong>. It is scheduled to become operational in June 2009 and will have a capacity of 1.28 terabits per second.
