In this regard, GE Healthcare and Intel will work together, combining their research resources to accelerate the innovation and commercialization of home healthcare technologies. They also have as <strong>objective to expand its current technological development programs in the area of home healthcare<\/strong> <strong>and independent living<\/strong>, which will include new areas such as fall prevention, medication adherence, sleep apnea, cardiovascular disease, diabetes and personal well-being monitoring.<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, both companies have announced their <strong>participation in research programs<\/strong> on home healthcare and independent living, with external funding. <strong>GE QuietCare is a passive remote control system<\/strong> of the activity and behavior of the elderly, alerting caregivers to changes that may indicate potential health problems or emergencies, such as a fall or the onset of an illness. Meanwhile, <strong>Intel Health Guide is a personal health system<\/strong> It combines a home device for the patient with an online interface that allows healthcare professionals to monitor patients at home and manage their care remotely.
