This event, which has been held for the third consecutive year in our country, was co-organized by BICSI CALA and INICTEL-UNI.<\/p>\n<p>In this article, I summarize the main ideas presented at this roundtable. The event featured the participation of highly esteemed individuals whose contributions were instrumental in its success, in addition to the invaluable input of the various speakers, whom I also list here. I hope this will contribute to the ongoing debate in our region regarding Digital Transformation and how our country should rise to this challenge.<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Panelists:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Betty Bezos (Bezos Technologies)<\/li>\n<li>Luis Enrique Mendiz\u00e1bal P\u00e9rez (President of the Electronics Chapter-CIP)<\/li>\n<li>Mar\u00eda Jesus Herrera (Ericson Peru)<\/li>\n<li>Juan David Rodriguez Gomez (Claro Peru)<\/li>\n<li>Oswaldo Pelaes Le\u00f3n (Telef\u00f3nica Per\u00fa)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Moderator:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Yuri Bravo Asencios (BICSI-CALA)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Development:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Topic: What is your opinion of the state of Digital Transformation in Peru?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Technological advancements present challenges to prevent our country from falling behind. To address this, improvements are needed in how stakeholders (government and private companies) provide and promote the benefits of Information Technologies.<\/p>\n<p>Emphasis needs to be placed on greater transparency from the State through the use of technological tools so that citizens have access to the information they need when accessing basic services, as well as information for businesses.<\/p>\n<p>Digital transformation generates profitability and sustainability in a competitive market, democratizing access to information for citizens and businesses in the various provinces and districts of Peru. To achieve this, organizations need to be re-engineered so they can leverage these services through digital technologies.<\/p>\n<p>The following presentations related to Digital Transformation were given at the Congress:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Paul Weintraub, BICSI&#039;s Global Vice President of Development and Support, gave a presentation on BICSI and its role in the ICT industry worldwide.<\/li>\n<li>Jorge Barrionuevo, Territorial Manager of Siemon, presented the PoE lighting solution for buildings and the standards that support it.<\/li>\n<li>Jim Davis, Fluke Regional Marketing Engineer, gave a presentation on field testing and troubleshooting for PON local area networks.<\/li>\n<li>C\u00e9sar Linares, Vertiv&#039;s Sales and Applications Manager, gave a presentation on Precision Air Conditioning Solutions for Peru.<\/li>\n<li>Vinicius Pulga, Engineer at Furukawa Electric Latam, gave a presentation on Passive Optical Networks.<\/li>\n<li>Luis Andrade, General Manager of Fibermax, gave a presentation on the importance of connectivity in Fiber Optics.<\/li>\n<li>Robert Ramirez, Representative of Tecniases, presented the topic on Data Center Shelter.<\/li>\n<li>Betty Bezos, President of BICSI CALA, presented the dissertation on Computer Center Auditing.<\/li>\n<li>Yuri Bravo, Secretary of BICSI CALA, presented on ICT Data in Peru.<\/li>\n<li>Jos\u00e9 Oliden, Executive Director of INICTEL-UNI, presented the topic on the Internet of Things.<\/li>\n<li>Jorge Sakata, Data Center Manager at BCP, spoke about Multi Data Center topologies.<\/li>\n<li>Jim Davis, Fluke&#039;s Regional Marketing Engineer, presented the dissertation on fiber optic installations for data centers and campuses at 40 and 100G.<\/li>\n<li>Jos\u00e9 Luis Le\u00f3n, an engineer from Legrand, spoke about the evaluation of the Total Cost of Ownership of a UPS system.<\/li>\n<li>Jack Pozo, Regional Manager of Rittal, gave a presentation on Edge Data Centers and Micro Data Centers.<\/li>\n<li>Nelson Farf\u00e1n, Vice President of BICSI CALA, presented the topic of changes in ISO and TIA standards for 2018 for Data Center.<\/li>\n<li>Andr\u00e9s Mari\u00f1o, Senior Field Applications Engineer at Commscope, spoke on the topic of Fiber Optic Technologies towards the future 400 Gbps.<\/li>\n<li>Miguel Neyra, Telecommunications Engineer from Claro, presented the topic on the trends of Fixed-Mobile Access Networks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Topic: What are the most important factors of Digital Transformation for the development of our country?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The human person is one of the main factors considered most relevant to developing Digital Transformation for the advancement of our country.<\/p>\n<p>The human capital needed to carry out these changes does not only correspond to those who work in the field of Engineering, but also requires the participation of those in the Humanities.<\/p>\n<p>The purpose of developing applications should be to help make people&#039;s lives easier.<\/p>\n<p>The following presentations were given on these aspects during the Congress:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Francisco Madrid, Technical Secretary of the CTN Data Center and IT environments, spoke about Technical Standard 620.200 and its impact in Peru.<\/li>\n<li>Aurelio Baz\u00e1n, Telecommunications Engineer from INICTEL-UNI, presented the topic of the Peruvian Standard NTP 264-100-2018 on connector cleaning.<\/li>\n<li>Maurice Frayssinet Delgado, Information Security and PeCERT Coordinator of the Digital Government Secretariat of the PCM, spoke about the progress of the Digital Transformation of the Peruvian State.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Topic: What are the main challenges to becoming a CONNECTED PERU FOR ALL?<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>The main challenges identified have to do with the need for training not only for Engineers, but also for Installation Technicians.<\/li>\n<li>Not only the Sciences should be involved, but also the Arts in this process.<\/li>\n<li>The abundance of information presents a challenge for its handling (security, privacy).<\/li>\n<li>The content should be developed (Agriculture, Telemedicine, Education, Mining, Fisheries), prioritizing the basic needs of citizens by taking advantage of technology (procedures, health, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>It is necessary to promote the Digital Agenda that includes the participation of all those involved (Government, Private Company).<\/li>\n<li>The scope of this Transformation must reach the rural sectors (Sierra and Selva), for example, by using satellite communication.<\/li>\n<li>Development is required in both communications and data processing.<\/li>\n<li>Given that digital transformation is disruptive, it is necessary for companies to learn to listen to users and channel their feedback.<\/li>\n<li>The scope must be defined by prioritizing the different elements (Smart City), starting with smart buildings.<\/li>\n<li>Develop Technical Standards and update existing ones, as a relevant factor to guarantee the minimum acceptable quality levels for the support infrastructure of the services provided.<\/li>\n<li>Improve access to telecommunications in provinces (e.g., costs) (Role of the State).<\/li>\n<li>The actors are the Enablers and Facilitators for providing services.<\/li>\n<li>Citizens should be informed about existing services, seeking feedback to verify
