NEW DIPLOMA COURSE: DATA CENTER DESIGN

The National Institute for Research and Training in Telecommunications of the National University of Engineering - INICTEL-UNI, has just announced the launch of a new Diploma in Data Center Design, responding to the current needs of the Peruvian market.

In recent years, Peru has seen an increase in installed data center infrastructure due to growing demand for information technology in companies across various public and private sectors. This trend continues to strengthen, highlighting the need for professionals capable of handling data center design, implementation, maintenance, and operation. As a result, several international organizations, such as the Uptime Institute, BICSI, and Data Center Dynamics, are offering data center design courses.

The unique aspect of the Data Center is that, being a Mission Critical environment, it requires special attention from Organizations since their processes depend on the proper operation of each of the Data Center's components, and these components correspond to different specialties that add up to guarantee the expected levels of availability.

A Data Center is composed of Energy and Power Systems, Air Conditioning Systems, Electronic Security and Fire Protection Systems, Structured Cabling Systems, Management and Monitoring Systems, all of this to guarantee the operation of Information and Communications Technology Equipment (Networking, Data Processing, Storage, etc.).

Therefore, instead of relying on a single specialty, the participation of a team of specialized professionals is required. This is why INICTEL-UNI, a recognized institution in Peru and a leader in the training and specialization of telecommunications professionals, is taking on this challenge and has assembled a team of Master's and MBA engineers with extensive experience in projects in their respective specialties and accredited with certifications from international organizations such as UPTIME INSTITUTE, BICSI, DC PROFESSIONAL, ITIL, ISACA, PMI, members of the College of Engineers of Peru, BICSI, ASHRAE, and experience in Data Center management from renowned organizations.

The INICTEL-UNI Data Center Design Diploma program stands out from other courses due to the topics covered in its 5 modules, which require 150 hours of study. These modules cover the specialties of Data Center Infrastructure, contributing to the specialization of professionals involved in the different processes of the Data Center lifecycle: Study, Design, Peer Review, Implementation, Commissioning, Start-up, Maintenance, and Management.
